Vancouver Chinese Lutheran Church (VCLC) was formed in 1992 by a number of dedicated Christians who were not satisfied with the status quo and the lack of contextual social action in their own churches.
In the early days of it formation, the congregation worshipped at the facilities of First Lutheran Church. Then renting the facility of Champlain Height Recreation Centre in Vancouver in 1995. Since 1997, VCLC and Faith Lutheran Church (FLC) have been working together bases on a joint ministry agreement in the facilities of FLC. The two congregations have planned a number of joint initiatives but the limited space in the existing facilities poses a major barrier. In 2006, VCLC have build a 2800 sq ft of extension unit which provide a multi-purpose room for Youth Worship, small classrooms, pastor's offices, and a commercial kitchen.
